Squirrel Control

Grey Squirrels breed in the springtime. The female squirrel has 2 litters of 3 to 4 young each year around March and July. The young leave the nest at 10 to 12 weeks old.

Commonly seen in urban parks and gardens, the squirrel is active during the day, mainly at dawn and dusk. Squirrels feed on nuts, fruit, tree shoots and seeds, digging and burying food for retrieval at a later date.

Squirrels make nests known as ‘dreys’ which are made from twigs and leaves and can often be seen high up in trees. Unfortunately they will often take up residency in your loft instead and cause damage to loft insulation, woodwork and electric cables.

Treatment:
If you have squirrels in your loft we can remove them. To avoid squirrels gaining entry to your property ensure all gaps and holes around roofs and soffits are blocked or repaired.

We do not recommend removal in external areas as squirrels are territorial. If one is removed from the area others will only fill the vacuum.

It is illegal to catch grey squirrels in live traps and release them back into the countryside.
